Things don’t always end up they way you intend them to. Like yesterday with our seemingly easy 1h flight from Copenhagen to Frankfurt that ended up in a 12h project and lost luggage. Still no sight of the luggage today but with borrowed toothpaste and t-shirt and Christmas Market in Mainz waiting I’m trying (and now and then failing) to let this be Lufthansas and SAS’s problem, not mine.
But back to the 21st and our first Christmas Eve of the year. As this is the first Christmas in 30 years I’m not spending with my family in Sweden they chose to “move their Christmas eve” so that we could all celebrate together before we flew to Germany. A calm and laidback day with good food, family and pretty presents. I was in charge of setting the table and chose a neutral look with whites, pine and gingerbread cookies. I’m happy we got to enjoy a traditional Swedish julbord and that I got to show it to Patrick. Now I’m super excited to see what the German Christmas dinner has to offer!
Saker och ting blir inte alltid som man tänkt sig. Som igår när vår en timmes flight, som ju kan verka som en ganska enkel resa, slutade med en 12 timmars resa och en ankomst utan bagage. Fortfarande inget bagage i sikte idag men med lånad tandkräm och t-shirt och en julmarknad i Mainz som väntar försöker jag (och misslyckas då och då) låta det vara Lufthansas och SAS’s problem, inte mitt.
Hur som helst, tillbaka till den 21e och vår första julafton i år. Då det är den första julen på 30 år jag inte firar med min familj i Sverige valde de att tidigarelägga sin julafton så att vi alla kunde fira tillsammans innan vi flög till Tyskland. En lugn och avslappnad dag med god mat, familjen och fina presenter. Jag var ansvarig för dukningen och valde en neutral look i vitt, pyntat med granris och pepparkakor. Jag är så glad att vi fick njuta av ett riktigt svenskt julbord och att jag fick visa det för Patrick. Nu är jag riktigt spänd på det tyska julbordet och vad det har att erbjuda!
